Way faster than dbz

Maybe a little too fast? I am a fan of dbz and the action comes at you way faster here. There were like NO pauses in the fight and it was like an average of a second per scene!

In my personal preference, it would be better if there were a few pauses. After an attack that did major damage, there should be a slowdown of that hit. Like in dbz, if they took a major hit to the stomach, it looks like time was slowed and you see their pained expression held for a second before time resumes normally. I know you shouldn't make it too much like dbz, but I also like the fact that they'd have a few pauses to catch their breath. I hope you can understand what I'm saying lol.

Time to praise this flash! The artwork was AMAZING. Some of the best I've seen on Newgrounds. Plus, it was CONSISTANT. So many fbf flashes distort their characters when animated, but you animate them so well and smoothly without any of that! The special effects were great too. The backgground was slightly bland and the smoke effects had lines that were too bold inside. But those were very minor details.

I loved the flash, keep it up! These are just my personal opinions so you don't have to take it seriously. Again, AMAZING work. 5/5 10/10

Amazing amount of art

Seriously, almost everything was frame by frame animation which adds up to a lot. But, it was dissappointing to see that not everything was up to par.

First of all, the art. Unfortunately, the body proportions changed far too much. Yes, it is hard to keep it consistant, but this is why people don't like your flash. The changing body sizes is the biggest problem facing fbf flashes. Also, I don't like your art style the best. You pretty much give every thing a little "shine" to it. That's ok, but when EVERYTHING including the smoke has it, it becomes annoying at times. But that's just my opinion on it. You don't have to change it because it is your style, just do what you like.

The voices. The main characters' voices were ok, but the volume varied too much. And the "battle cries" were just AWFUL. Awful. I also found the "old man" voice INCREDIBLY annoying. I just HATE that stereotypical wheezing and hacking voice that EVERY old person has. It draws out what they say for too long and it annoys me at the same time. You probably don't have good recording equipment either, which is fine, but sometimes the louder shouts make that horrible staticy noise.

There were good points to it though. The humour was decent but I think you can do better. The music and sound were done nicely too.

I thought that overall, I did not really enjoy it. It didn't do it for me. It didn't really hook me into the story. The changing art made it hard to watch the movie and the story took too long to really get started properly. Your storyline is good though, when it got started. I am impressed by the amount of artwork you put into it, but it should be quality over quantity.

I think it was ok as a flash, but it could have been better. 7/10.

Nice video

I hate how collabs have one or two good animations while all of the others don't measure up to that quality. It is a rather long time to make a flash, but I would much rather watch one good flash than 60 bad ones.

Ok, no storyline, but that's ok for this kind of video (even though some of them were kind of on the edge of too random). The song is a nice choice and generally fits well with the animation. My favorite one has to be the random clock owning part by wand. Overall amazing flash!

Now I have to comment on the credits music. Well some people might have missed the part of the credits with the credits song name in it! I know I did. Some people don't want to rewatch the whole video to get to the credits again! You are constantly saying read the credits while there is no button for the credits! Yes, you mentioned you would have a menu up soon, and no I do not know how much time it would take to make a credits button. But I think it would be best if you had at least a credits button if not a full menu.

Once again, amazing collab. I am not a fan or hater of locks, but I know a good flash when I see one. You deserve a 5/5 and 10/10.

FlashShark responds:

Detailed review, I like!

Also rumors of stuff getting deleted means I don't want to update this flash until the menu is actually ready. Which tbh is taking longer than I thought.

Pretty cool

Great flash. I would like to start off by saying how awsome the 3D stuff was and space battle was really cool. I also liked how the lightsabers looked when they swung them.

Even though it was an awsome flash, some things could use some improvement. I would like to say first how they moved...was awkward at times. It looked like they were moving a little too slowly. When they swing their lightsabers, it has to be faster. Maybe have them have a faster swing instead of having to take 2 seconds to do slash. I also found the voice acting a bit weak and the madness element to be lacking a little (madness is all about the fast paced, blood filled killing frenzy that wasn't in this flash).

But other than that, it is a good, solid flash. 5/5 9/10

DutchinLive responds:

Like I've said before, I agree to all this, and I'll definitely take everything on board for the next one!

Nice stuff

Ok, so the animation wasn't the best, but when people are comparing it to krinkle's stuff, they make your animation sound like it sucks. The animation was good though, and the art was as good as some of the original madness movies.

BUT, the main problem here is the story. It was very hard to follow, extremly anime-like in nature and overdramatic for a movie of this length. Most of the grammar is pretty bad too, which further destroyed the story.

ALSO, another problem is the fanbase for madness isn't the anime loving types. Some people long for the kills without supercrazy overpowered moves. I personally like anime, but others who watch madness are in for the gore, the kills with guns and other objects. What you used was a bunch of typical anime moves. I can see why other people called it a dbz rip-off but it's hard to not get accused of that when any type of energy ball attack is used. Also, teleporting is very common in many anime shows and is not just limited to dbz.

Overall, I thought it was a good movie, except for the story. You're just getting bashed because Krinkles is a hard act to follow and people are giving you too much grief for it. You lost a point beacuse of the story, but it was a good movie nonetheless. 9/10

Very funny and short

I really liked it. The story was funny and short, but that's a good thing because something like this shouldn't be too long. I love his "transformation" with the fast paced techno music in the background! Also one of the few flashs that make me want to actually laugh out load instead of just smile.

Things that could be improved on? The voice acting and the art. The bartender's and the girl's voices were not so great and the art looked a little rough at times. But overall a nice short amusing flash. 9/10

De-Line responds:

awesome to hear it got a literal "lol"
i agree the voice acting could be improved on.. like getting an actual girl instead of just me. sound will be much better on my next submission (marvel collab!)
also, more consistency with the art. i promise.
thanks for the review, i appreciate the honesty.

Propane Nightmares by Pendulum

Is the best song ever! I love how you incorporated the song into the movie so nicely. It fits together perfectly. Love your art, music choice and the plot! The only thing that I don't like is the slight overusage of the blur effect. Other than that, it's perfect! 5/5 10/10

AMAZING!

The animation was VERY smooth. Everything flowed together and the choice for the color theme was perfect. A kick ass laser fight against an alien in outer space? What more could you ask for? I REALLY like the music too! Fast paced techno music + awsome lazer fight = AWSOME! Man, you should really do more stuff like this! The only thing I don't like is the score! It's way too low for something as good as this! 5/5 10/10

P.S. it was a litttle too one sided and it was a little too easy for that guy to come in and blow up the alien's base. Although, that makes it all the more epic.

Just amazing

I don't like how people are complaining about the animation! It's so amazing! It's at least a thousand times better than most of the crap being submitted and is probably up there with some of the best flashes on newgrounds. It's almost as good if not better than a regular TV show! Detailed characters and great background detail make it very pleasing to the eye.

Ok, the storyline was kind of hazy, but since this is the prologue, not much can be said there. But i really hope the thieves didn't all get killed by the guy. It's just so sad how you only knew them for such a short time.

Overall, an astounding flash. I would say it's ten times better than what I would usually rate a five, but unfortunately the rating system does not go beyond that. 5/5.

Not appreciated enough

Yes I know, it already has almost everyone saying how awsome and amazing this is. But most people don't realize how much time and amazing effort and detail which was put into this. The effects were just mind blowing, amazingly smooth, this is the ultimate action flash. Some people complain that it's only stick people fighting, but I find it fits perfectly with the theme here.

What I REALLY REALLY enjoyed was how every singel time I watched it, the movie changes each time. The background sometimes changed, the music, the camera distance, the focus point of the camera, and the side switching.

Alright, I admit the "interactivity" was a little... brief. But, by experimenting a little I found out what a few keys did. If you used the arrow keys left and right, you can recall the action FRAME BY FRAME! How awsome is that! Space bar for pausing and the s key for sound on/off. Q for quality. The up and down arrow keys for speeding up or slowing down the movie. F key is for showing the fram rate you are watching the movie at. The scroll wheel controls camera distance. If you gave some solid instructions on all of the controls, I bet you would get 4.7 as your score!

Alright, so there is another problem. The camera distance changes every 10 seconds or so. Now, this wouldn't be a problem if it weren't for the fact that the camera sometimes was too far or too close. What most people don't realize is that the camera distance changes randomly every time! So some complain that the camera should be closer here or maybe it was too far at this part. But that's only because the randomly generated distance of the camera was generated badly, not because the author chose a bad angle. Maybe the randomness of the distance should be decreased so it doesn't happen to be too close or too far.

What I also like about this movie is the moves they use. I mean, in NO part are the same moves used twice. Ever. It was really awsome how you made every single frame full of action. Nothing was boring in any way. The best move in the movie has got to be when the yellow sword guy does the amazing spinning kick combo while holding his sword in his foot! Man that was cool (wouldn't have turned out so great if he wasn't a stickman, it shows how vesitile stick animations can be)!

So, if I could give you any score I wanted, I would give you a 98/10 (2 points off for no instructions and slightly bad camera jumps). You are AMAZING!!!!!!
